Ivor Gottschalk Ivor Gottschalk, CA·IFA, CBV, has 18 years experience in financial litigation support. Before founding Gottschalk Inc. in 2003, Ivor was a partner of the international CA firm, Grant Thornton LLP, and also gained valuable skills and experience in his previous positions with Ernst & Young as well as KPMG Lindquist Holmes.

Ivor has lead hundreds of financial litigation support assignments, including high profile matters in Canada and abroad. He has been accepted as an expert witness by both the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice.

Ivor has been at the core of the development of standards of practice in forensic accounting in Canada since its inception, and is currently the Chair of the Standards Committee of the CICA’s Alliance for Excellence in Investigative and Forensic Accounting (IFA Alliance). He has held a variety of positions with the Toronto Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is also the Treasurer of the Toronto Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Ivor Gottschalk is a regular public speaker, frequent author, and has co-authored publications for the IFA Alliance, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Association of Certified Forensic Investigators of Canada.

Brendan Cape Brendan Cape, CMA, has seven years progressive experience in both public accounting and the private sector. Brendan’s background in financial litigation support includes:
  • Quantifying damages for a multi-million dollar commercial real estate dispute
    (The Toronto-Dominion Bank  ATS. Goldberger, et al.);
  • Participating in a high profile investigation of suspicious land transactions
    (Ontario Realty Corporation  VS.  P. Gabriele, et al.);
  • Preparing a detailed valuation for a matrimonial matter;
  • Estimating losses suffered in a professional negligence case;
  • Investigating allegations of revenue diversion made by a minority shareholder; and
  • Researching the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) Act for a financial institution.

Brendan has also conducted financial statement audits and, in a recent position with a marketing communications firm, was responsible for managing the company's financial systems, tax matters, annual audits and due diligence investigations.

In addition to being a Certified Management Accountant, Brendan holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is currently enrolled in the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) program.

Simon Zhong Mark Noxon, CA, CFE, CDFA, has worked in the valuation and litigation support field since 2006. He specializes in matrimonial matters including income analysis, net family property calculations, business valuations, budgeting and optimization of settlement structures. Mark has been trained in the collaborative approach to family law. In his practice, he draws on experience and skills developed through working with lawyers on a variety of matters including forensic accounting investigations and the quantification of damages arising from breach of contract. Mark is an active student in the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) program. Prior to 2006, Mark was a Partner and Vice-President, Finance/Operations for a large Canadian media company.
